Maine Fiberarts Tour Map, a self-guided tour map to fiber destinations statewide, is scheduled for distribution throughout 2006. It will be a resource for locating fiber producing farms, artists’ studios, suppliers (yarn shops, fabric stores, basketry supplies, etc.), learning centers, galleries, and processing mills year-round on Maine’s beautiful byways and back roads.
As a special benefit, all the sites (listed below by county) will be open to the public the first weekend in August—August 4, 5, 6, 2006—for an Open Studio & Farm Weekend at the height of the summer tourist season.
Look for free copies of the Tour Map during 2006 at State Visitors Centers, Maine Fiberarts' Center in Topsham, and other locations.
